1B - Mrs. Diane Cole
Welcome to 1B! First grade is a big growth year focusing on learning to read, addition and subtraction facts, journal writing, and developing good work habits. Reading and language arts are integrated with all subjects. First graders learn about God and His special gift to us - His Son, Jesus.
The children are encouraged to follow in Jesus' footsteps by being kind, loving, caring, and respectful neighbors. It is very rewarding to see the changes that take place from the beginning of the year to the end.
I am looking forward to a fun filled year!
Helpful Hints
Read to your child every day. Switch places and have your child read to you.
Make sure your child has plenty of rest every day.
Visit the library often.
Check your child's homework folder every night. Folders are sent home every day and should be returned to school the very next morning.
