8A - Mr. Mark Flint
"In a world full of followers, dare to be a leader." This sentiment, which has decorated the wall of 8A for several years, best describes what I hope my students will gain from their eighth grade experience. My goal is to guide my students in developing their gifts and talents so that, as leaders, they may come to know God by serving His people.
Eighth grade students, transitioning from childhood to young adulthood, bring with them to the educational setting a unique collection of needs. The cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of each eighth grader must be identified, acknowledged and satisfied by means of a rigorous academic program, enriching activities, opportunities for prayer and worship, and supportive and caring advisement.
St. Mary's program does just that. Through its challenging academic environment in which "walking the walk of discipleship" is encouraged, our eighth grade program inspires students to be the best they can possibly be in the hope that as they enter high school, they will dare to lead.
