Saint Vincent DePaul
The Society of St. Vincent DePaul strives to make contact with the needy individuals and families of our Parish and in the Melrose community at large and providing those in need with short-term assistance in the areas of food, rent, utilities, and other basic needs.

Coordinator:

Objective:
Provide short-term assistance to needy for community.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- attend monthly meetings
- visit clients, as assigned
- keep records of visits and report on same to group at meetings
- share thoughts, concerns, & ideas about how best to minister to clients' needs
- treat clients with dignity and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- member of St. Mary's Parish
- Person of Faith
- Attends Mass regularly
- Available as needed
- Willing to spend time with clients and be advocate as needed
- Be comfortable going to homes
- Participate in some regular activities such as the giving tree
Training:
New members assigned mentor to become familiar with the process and methods of tending to the needy in our community.
Time of Ministry:
Monthly meeting on first Tuesday at 7:00pm from September to May; as needed outside for tasks assigned by President.
Length of Commitment:
As your schedule allows, most members make a lifetime commitment.
