Worship Committee

This is a parish committee established to foster the full, conscious, and active participation of the assembly - a participation "burning with faith, hope, and charity, of the sort that is demanded by the very nature of the celebration, and to which the Christian people have a right and duty by reason of their baptism"(Roman Missal). This will lead to the ultimate goal - the praise of almighty God and the sanctification of God's people.

The Worship Committee serves in an advisory way to the pastor. With him, it
  • assesses the needs of the worshiping assembly
  • supervisors the training of competent liturgical ministers
  • provides for the ongoing liturgical formation of the assembly
  • develops parish policies for liturgical celebrations
  • implements changes mandated by the Archbishop
  • routinely evaluates the liturgical celebrations of the parish
Each member must be committed to his or her own liturgical formation. Such formation should be a standing agenda item at each meeting. The committee can achieve this by subscribing to liturgical periodicals, reading pertinent documents and books, and attending archdiocesan workshops and classes.

Sean O'Brien is the chairperson of the Worship Committee.
